From Broadway to Central Park and everything in between, New York City offers the world to you. During your stay in the city, check out some of these fun experiences, providing lifetime memories.
Go to a Broadway Show
It’s easier than you think to get tickets to a Broadway show. If you know when you’re visiting the city, you can buy your tickets in advance. But even if your visit is last minute, you can still find tickets online or even at the box office. With long running shows like Hamilton still available to the general public, you can see the most popular Broadway hits – without the $1000 price tag. There are multiple online services and walk-up booths ready to help you find your tickets.
Row Your Boat in Central Park
If you’re visiting the city during warm weather months, rent a row boat or even a gondola at the Loeb Boathouse daily from 10 a.m. until dusk. The boathouse is located on the east side of the park between 74th and 75th streets, and rentals are available April through October. Enjoy Central Park’s largest body of water while getting in a little exercise. After experiencing a unique perspective on the park, stop by the Loeb Boathouse restaurant, express café, or outside bar to refuel after your adventure.
Stroll the High Line
More than a park, the High Line offers art, gardens, performances, and food. On the west side of Manhattan, paralleling the Hudson River, the High Line is a renovated historic, elevated freight line, an industrial remnant reimagined. Participate in regularly scheduled walking tours or visit one of the food vendors during the spring, summer, and fall, and Santina, the award-winning coastal Italian restaurant, is open year round. Open every day at 7 a.m. with closings depending on the time of year, the High Line is 1.45 miles long running from Ganesevoort St. to 34th St. The High Line is wheelchair accessible with public restrooms located throughout the park, as well as water fountains.
Visit a Museum
With 32 museums in Manhattan alone, you can have your pick of the museum experience you desire. Starting with the Metropolitan Museum of Art featuring 2 million pieces of art spanning five millennia, you can work your way down 5th Avenue to hit a few of these museums. The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is just a few blocks north of the Metropolitan Museum. The Guggenheim in and of itself is a piece of art, designed by famed Frank Lloyd Wright. With both visiting exhibits, as well as a permanent collection including Picasso and van Gogh, the Guggenheim is a more than viewing art work; it is an experience.
Take in the View from the Empire State Building
Near Times Square, Madison Square Garden, the Theater District, and Macy’s, the Empire State Building is quite literally in the middle of everything. Visit the observation deck to enjoy panoramic views of the Big Apple.
